It's a hilarious script, but depending on your community, might be a little blue. There are a few suggestive spots in there.
But then again, the whole purpose of theatre is not to offend anyone, right?

If you get to the point were you want something a little more than comedy for women (P.S. a couple of Jim's suggestions are not quite comedy's)
"Octette Bridge Club" (You'll need one more woman, also a guy who is on for about five minutes of the first scene)
Also, really great show, "A piece of my heart" (you will also need one man who does a bunch of little "bits" throughout as different characters.

OK, OK...so I can't read. It did say COMEDIES for 2 females. I have to admit, there are not a lot of laughs in Agnes of God.....so....allow me another chance at this:
I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES
CRIMES OF THE HEART
VANITIES
WALLY'S CAFE
5 TELLERS DANCING IN THE RAIN
BELLES
CEMETARY CLUB
MOONLIGHT AND VALENTINO
PLAZA SUITE
THE GOOD DOCTOR
CROSSING DELANCEY
and any FARNDALE AVENUE play.
ps. I rather enjoy ODD COUPLE (FEMALE VERSION)...so there!
I said it and I'm glad.

Well, I would hope the original poster figured it out by now as this discussion was apparently taking place last summer! But I did find a partial copy of "Five Women.." on Googlebooks which is pretty cool. I wonder how many other scripts are available that way now? LINK HERE. |

Kitchen Witches is a terrific play, 2 women, 1 or 2 men, unit set.

We just finished Kitchen Witches and it was a sell out. Two major leads for women, one man and the other role could be male or female. One set. OUr audience loved it. Especially the tasting scene.

No one mentioned Faith County. Set is very simple and the women are the stars---especially three of them. Funny play. It was a big hit when we did it.
http://www.movinon.net/VillagePlayers/FaithCounty/Rpictures.html Scroll down to look at the Technical rehearsal pictures if you want an idea of what the play looked like. |
