You didn't specify the ages of the women, but you've just described Neil Simon's female version of the "The Odd Couple".

If your females are 20-30's then you might want to look at Alan Ball's "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress."

The Smell of the Kill     3 women  3 men as off stage voices.   You can find it a http://www.dramaticpublishing.com - www.dramaticpublishing.com    They even have an excerpt that you can read on-line.   The set may not be as simple as you'd like as it takes place in a very very upscale suburban kitchen.    When I directed it I had a working refrigerator and running water from the sink.    You also need to show an oven or at least a cooking range and should have a nice looking facade for a dishwasher and be able to open it to put dishes in it.   Oh and a clock gets shot off the wall, so have good working prop hand gun.  Other than than a pretty simple dark comedy that had everyone rolling in the aisles.   Oh yeah and the knife effect in the broom closset was a crowd pleaser every night......as was the freezer packed with Green Giant frozen pea boxes.....and the working baby monitor with baby crys and actor dialog might be challenging.......and I haven't even gotten to the plot yet.LOL

I have to agree with Marty - I read the script and found it really, really dated for the time period and just not quite up to par with the original male version.

I thought I was the only one that didn't care for the Female Version.  I keep hearing it described as "funnier than the original" . . . uh, no.

Excuse me, while I pick up my teeth.

I was only recommending the show because of dschock's specifications.  I've never actually seen the female version.

Like the man who bought orthopedic shoes, I now stand corrrected.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the input (even Odd Couple female version - which I might mention, I had thought of too, but I'm not a huge fan of it either, and I needed 7 in the cast and I think it's eight)!
Five Women Wearing the Same Dress looks like it could work perfectly.  Does anyone have more input on it (good or bad)?

It's a hilarious script, but depending on your community, might be a little blue. There are a few suggestive spots in there.

But then again, the whole purpose of theatre is not to offend anyone, right?

If you get to the point were you want something a little more than comedy for women (P.S.  a couple of Jim's suggestions are not quite comedy's)

"Octette Bridge Club" (You'll need one more woman, also a guy who is on for about five minutes of the first scene)

Also, really great show, "A piece of my heart" (you will also need one man who does a bunch of little "bits" throughout as different characters.

OK, OK...so I can't read.  It did say COMEDIES for 2 females.

I have to admit, there are not a lot of laughs in Agnes of God.....so....allow me another chance at this:

I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES
     CRIMES OF THE HEART
     VANITIES
     WALLY'S CAFE
5 TELLERS DANCING IN THE RAIN
     BELLES
     CEMETARY CLUB
     MOONLIGHT AND VALENTINO
     PLAZA SUITE
     THE GOOD DOCTOR
     CROSSING DELANCEY
     and any FARNDALE AVENUE play.

ps.  I rather enjoy ODD COUPLE (FEMALE VERSION)...so there!
I said it and I'm glad.   Tongue

Well, I would hope the original poster figured it out by now as this discussion was apparently taking place last summer!

But I did find a partial copy of "Five Women.." on Googlebooks which is pretty cool. I wonder how many other scripts are available that way now?

We just finished Kitchen Witches and it was a sell out.  Two major leads for women, one man and the other role could be male or female. One set.  OUr audience loved it.  Especially the tasting scene.

No one mentioned Faith County. Set is very simple and the women are the stars---especially three of them. Funny play. It was a big hit when we did it.

Scroll down to look at the Technical rehearsal pictures if you want an idea of what the play looked like.
