Wheaton Drama, Inc. (WDI) is presenting A.R. Gurney’s comedy, Sylvia.

When empty-nester Greg adopts stray dog Sylvia, her antics and his fondness for her threaten to disrupt his marriage.

Energetic, comic and fresh, Sylvia is an entertaining romp for dog and theatre lovers alike. The New York Daily News described the show as “…one of the most involving, beautiful, funny, touching and profound plays I have ever seen…”.

Wheaton Drama’s Sylvia cast is: Mike Boyna as Greg; Jennifer Ciombor as Sylvia; Joan Morrissey as Kate; Vince Scalone as Tom, Leslie and Phyllis.

Penny Salvesen is directing. Jackie Haiser is the producer and stage manager.

Performances of Sylvia are July 9 through July 18, 2010. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $10 each. Seating is general admission. Sylvia is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Due to strong adult language and themes, viewer discretion is advised.

Additional production staff include: Ken Beach (production photography); Traci A. Cidlik (graphic design); Barb Giblin (props); Kathy Heinze (sound); Melissa Heischberg (website); Roger Hicks (lighting); Andy Kanturek (video); Jo-Ann Ledger (publicity); Steven Merkel (publicity photography); Rebecca Poole (tickets); Kate Quan (programme).

Wheaton Drama's 2010-2011 season will include Little Women, Twentieth Century, All My Sons, and 1776. The season will open with the community theatre premiere of a Tony® Award winning musical comedy. Check the Wheaton Drama website after June 28 for more details!

For tickets and information, please visit www.wheatondrama.org or call 630-260-1820.

At play since 1931, Wheaton Drama's quality productions are staged at Playhouse 111, 111 N. Hale Street in downtown Wheaton, Illinois.
