Topic: Beauty & The Beast.. what version? Posted: 10/03/07 at 8:47pm |
I am looking to direct Beauty & The Beast for our middle school this coming Spring. full length play or musical.... A number of you have mentioned you have directed this play to sold out audiences and I was hoping you could tell me what version of the play you used and where I could purchase it! Thanks!

I haven't mentioned it before, so you weren't looking for my version of Beauty and the Beast (a musical version) or James Barry's version. Both of these shows are English pantomimes. (See elsewhere for a definition of English pantomime, which is not a form of mime!) Both have been popular on stage.

I believe that most people are talking about the musical based on the Disney movie. Rights are available through MTI . http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?id=000262

MTI is where we got our materials, and that is the Disney version. It is a full length musical. It really is a fun show.
