we need to make a few sets of elevator doors that open up easily and can open together, it's for a corporate setting in the musical "How to Succeed in Buisness Without Really Trying" I am very grateful for any suggestions.

I saw a couple of parts on Ebay for elevators like arrows and signs and
buttons but no doors. I too was looking for a personal project in our
graphic studio, but we settled on making it in 3D and using blue screens
to composite people into the environment.

Why do you need a few sets of elevator doors?
Surely you would require only one set! If they are to depict different floors in the same building they would be all the same! Unless you require to depict a number of Lifts in the same lobby area, I would use only one & possibly a light indicator to depict the floor that the Lift is at. The Lift Lobby?s will be normally generic on each floor anyway.
As for the doors, mount them on a door track at the head & possibly have a tail track guides at the base or ?roller fair leads? fixed to the housing flats.
Use rope or cordage set up in the same method as a tabulating curtain (tabs) through pulleys off stage.

Just one small point - remember to stick to the standard of ?BLOFLI? (Back Line Out - Front Line In) method of operating the tab lines & mark the 'in/out deads'.
