I am a high school director looking for a great drama or fantasy.  I have a strong group of kids (both male and female) that are always up for anything.  I would love something unique that is around 30 minutes or a full length that can be cut to 30 minutes.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

What sort of fantasy?. Like
Wiley and the Hairy Man? Or like Midsummer?
I have always liked as a drama The Insanity ofMary Girard, and we just did Macbeth: ™A Tale of Darkness, which can be a bit fantastical.
What have you done recently, I too need some ideas!

We have recently done Messiah on the Frigidaire, Pagannini, and may all-time favorite Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.  I really like what I have seen about Macbeth: A Tale of Darkness.  Looks like it would be great!  Thanks for the suggestions.

I think Don Nigro is the go-to guy for strange, unusual fantasy that can be cut to 30 minutes. You've already done Paganini, which is great, but you could also look at Mariner or Cincinnati or Cinderella Waltz or really anything - go to Samuel French and delve into his immensely large catalogue.

You also couldn't go wrong with something like The Pillowman

You might check out my one-act Rumors of Polar Bears, about a group of teens surviving in a Mad Max-esque landscape after a catastrophic climate change event.  It's with Playscripts here:

You might also check out Carolina Dive by Neeley Gossett, which is published by YouthPLAYS:

Jenna's plans to escape her small town through a diving scholarship are put in jeopardy when a dive damages her inner ear, and she can no longer keep her balance.

A brilliant comedy/farce that I have had great success with as an entertainment and as a contest play is entitled "SHUT AND BAR THE DOOR" by Tom Grey.  It is easy to stage, different then anything you have ever done and hysterically funny.  Running time is 35 minutes and with a medium sized cast.  I reccommend it hightly.
