Does anyone have some great tips for "letting go" after an audition?  I always tell myself before I audition that I will put the whole thing out of my mind afterwards, but that is much easier said than done.  Even if there is not a part that I'm dying to play, I still get this almost queasy feel from the time I audition until the cast is announced.  I'd really like to be able to let go!  Any suggestions?

It's a mild form of classic stage fright.  There's no way I know of to get rid of it.  Just ride it out.  Think of it as the natural progression of things.  Going into it knowing what's going to happen will leave you more accepting of this silly, quirky feeling you can't get away from.  In other words: embrace it; make it yours and it won't bother you so much. - At least, that's what I do.

My advice is that once you get home from an audition, immediately find out when the next auditions are.  That way you are focusing on what's ahead and not fretting about what is (now) behind you.  Break a leg on all of your auditions!

I always tell myself:  If I get cast, great, I got what I wanted!  If I don't get cast, great, I won't have to spend all those evenings away from home!  I can't lose!  Clap

DeeCee has an excellent suggestion as well.

Yeah, I get very fidgety waiting for cast announcements.  Best way is, plan the next audition.  I have a pretty good handle on every upcoming audition within an hour's drive of home for me (and that's a lot) so there's always a backup plan.
