Need suggestions for a play/skit for High School kids to perform for target audience ages 3-11 to kick off "Rachel's Challenge" at our school.  Any ideas?  Happy to buy rights, just haven't found anything yet!

I have found that my kids can come up with issue play of equal quality to anything I can buy.  As long as they can keep to a simple theme, and keep their audience in focus, they usually delightfully surprise me.  Often they go with a "Game Theme"  where they have a character play a game and watch little scenes where the action is stopped and they character must make a choice of what to do.  Very simple, very obvious choices with that young of an age group.

Plus, since they come up with the script, it is easier to memorize!

Thanks for the Thank You for Flushing My Head in the Toilet and other rarely used expressions plug.  Much appreciated.  I think TYFF is a great choice for middle/high school and possibly upper elementary, but it would be too much for children in the 3-11 age group.

Of course, one issue the original poster should consider is that ages 3-11 is probably at least 3 different age groups, and what appeals to (and is age appropriate for) each age group will be quite different.  I would caution against a one size fits all approach to this subject.

Cheers,
Jon

By the way, I noticed that the original poster of this thread is named okla-hs-drama.  Assuming that means you might be from Oklahoma, Thank You for Flushing My Head in the Toilet... is being performed tomorrow at the Oklahoma state one-act competition by Tahlequah High School, having won its regional competition.

Cheers,
Jon
