I am looking for a full length Christmas play. I am part of a small community theater. Casting shows over 10 to 15 people is difficult. We have done all the "classic" Christmas plays...from It's a Wonderful Life...to A Christmas Story...I am wondering if there is anything else out there...???
Help!!
Thanks!!

We have tried other plays at Christmas, they just don't seem to work as well. We keep looking for inventive versions of A Christmas Carol since that is what appeals most to our audience. This year we are doing Annie, but next year we are doing Scrooge & Marley. Great script!

Take a look at "The Christmas Princess" by Arthur M. Jolly - funny, family-friendly with great audience interaction, and a refreshing change from "A Christmas Carol."
You can find it at youthplays.com.

We are going through the same issue. Small town, small actor pool. Also, our neighboring town is now on its 10th Annual Scrooge fest....with the Mayor playing Scrooge. Gotta get creative to contend with that one!

I second the recommendation of The Christmas Princess by Arthur Jolly. It's an outstanding small cast Christmas choice, and you'll find it at http://www.youthplays.com - www.youthplays.com .
If you want a version of A Christmas Carol that incorporates a bit of original music and can be done with as few as 10 actors, check out the Tom Smith/Roger Butterley adaptation, also available at http://www.youthplays.com - www.youthplays.com .
