Because the pastor and youth group from our church know that I have been a director of plays I have been asked to find and direct short plays for our youth group and other members of the church to do.

I Googled Christian scripts, Christian plays, Religious plays and only came up with a smattering of very amateurish plays. Does anyone know where I can find good plays and skits for a church?

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for full-length or shorter scripts?

If you're interested in 10-minute plays, check out the short work of Peter Bloedel. Here's a link to a collection of his, One-Act Rhynes for Bible Times. You can read it online by clicking on read free sample.

Plays based on Old Testament and New Testament stories plus a category we call "Christian Comentaries" (so Christian themes without necessarily a direct scriptural link) http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/Religious_and_Moral_Scripts/Index.htm - can be found here
(As usual, you can read the entire scripts on-line to find something suitable for your group.)

CITA (Christians in Theatre Arts) has a 5 play anthology they've published. I've not read any of the plays, but I would think they would look for the best of Christian theatre before publishing (or at least I would hope so). What length play are you looking for? I work for a Christian College that does one religious play a school year. The amount of terrible Christian scripts out there is unbelievable! The best stuff I've found lately is unpublished which is only helpful if you know the playwright.
