Hello everyone. Some great ideas on here! :-)

 

I am getting ready to present a class on Social Media Marketing for Theatres and am hoping you all can give me some feedback/help me with some research.

 

I have had fairly spectacular success using meetup.com to market shows in both the Seattle and Denver markets.*

 

So my question is this- are any of you out there using Meetup and if so how is it working for you in different markets?

 

What are your questions, concerns and stumbling blocks if you are using it?

 

If you have not tried it yet- why not? Does it seem too complicated or unfamiliar? Or are their other reasons for not trying it out?

(I basically use Meetup. com in three main ways- inviting group organizers to a free preview and then having them bring their group later, suggesting a meetup as an "idea" on certain targeted group lists, and hosting our own meetup group that lists outings to our theatre as well as other interesting arts events in the community.)
