We open Evita in two weeks!

I have been chronicling each step of the way with daily entries in a production blog

One week until opening night.  I have posted lots of new production photos.

Here are some of the unusual challenges we faced on this one:

1) A large musical with a unit set instead of drops & wagons
2) Unit set made entirely of rented scaffolding
3) Platforms covered in clear Plexi-glass and trapdoors covered in clear Lucite for bright, white "up-lights"
4) Video and PowerPoint projections intermittently throughout the show
5) The use of 6 programmable DMX tilt-n-pan mirror lekos
6)  The use of 4 followspots instead of two.  Two Super Troupers in standard balcony placement, plus two club spots on 16' high scaffolding towers at the proscenium arch
7)  All scenic changes done using lighting on the cyclorama; stage washes of 3 bold colors; or isolated pools of light.
8)  Scaffolding is decorated with "found items" and recycling materials to save money
9)  The "narrator" role of Che is divided equally among three actors
10)  Our first time double-casting a title role
