Hey everyone, I am new to this forum. I am in the process of starting a new Community Theatre in my town. I am looking for help building a nice script library for our group. We have our very first show on May 21 and 22 which will be a night of one acts, but I am struggling with our Libraries and Schools in our area because they have very few scripts so it is hard to get some good ideas. We are going to use some of our profits from this first show to buy some new scripts, but I was hoping that some of you out there might have some extras laying around that you would be willing to donate to us. Careful, having scripts is one thing, purchasing royalties to perform the scripts is another. Best of luck with your venture.

Thanks for the word of caution. I understand how it works. I have my BFA in Theatre. I live in a small town though, so finding people who can help with ideas is very difficult due to the major lack of resource. Even being able to help some of the schools students with forensics or monologues for College Auditions is a major challange. That is the reason we are starting this Community Theatre. We have had several kids in the last couple years audition for some Colleges with excellent Theatre programs, but they just have not had enough exposure or resources to be fully prepared and thus they have not been accepted. I am hoping to develop a nice library and eventually start giving acting lessons to the children in the area. I would also like to start a summer theatre day camp in the next couple years. My goal is to eventually see some of these kids start to get accepted to these College Theatre programs in the coming years.I hope this gives you a pretty good idea of what I am trying to do with the scripts. I'm in the process of thinning out our library. I'll be happy to send you what we don't want any more. Look for something in a week or two. (I'm in rehearsals for a play at the moment, and my lines come first.)

Finally finished going through our library. I'll be mailing you two or three dozen scripts - some old, some new, all pretty interesting. Hope they'll do you some good.

Josh - The scripts were sent to the address you posted, and I requested delivery confirmation. I checked on line this morning (I was told they should arrive yesterday) and they say the package is "undeliverable as addressed." It's apparently being returned to me. Have you got another address I can send them to?

Yes!!! I am so sorry, we just moved and I had someone getting our mail for us so I let them know that the scripts were coming but I guess they were not able to get them. My new address is

Thank you so much. I am very sorry for the mix up. Our first show went awesome. We hit a couple snags in the early stages but we were able to overcome everything and put on a great show. The group ended up making just about $1000 profit after everything was said and done so now we have a little bit of money to play with.

The scripts finally arrived back where they started a couple of days ago. I'm leaving in a few minutes to take them to the Post Office. I imagine you'll see them near the end of next week.
Glad to hear your play was a success. Maybe a second success is sitting in the box of scripts I'm sending.
