An electric golf cart with a frame that makes it look like a 50's car. etc. It is quiet on the stage, and it compact. We were fortunate when we did grease, we found an old car in a field, we cut it down to half the size and used it for the show. It was cool to have the big headlights facing out the audience and to have the car sturdy enough for the greasers to jump on , off and dance over.

I rented a nice styrofoam car body from Greensboro College for my production last year:

And I simply put it on top of a borrowed golf cart:

The crew had fun driving it around:

It was used in the Greased Lightning song as well as the drive-in movie scene:

It was built by John Saari, (the designer who invented "Sculpt-or-Coat" glue).  Here is his contact info:

There are 4 or 5 other theaters that rent their own cars around the country.  All you have to do is read through the old posts in this forum and you will find tons of previous posts about cars for rent.

Good luck with it....

When using "Sculpt-or-Coat" what do you do for flame proofing?
