Here's a question for the group.  We are doing By Jeeves.  I have seen a videotaped performance on Really Useful Group's Youtube channel.  I prefer the version of one song on this performance to the one in the R&H score.  Also, the R&H score leaves out the Wizard Rainbow Banjo Mix that is on the video performance and both OCR's.

Do you think either R&H or Really Useful Group would allow me to make these changes?

Thanks.

I think you would have less than two chances & yours would not be one of them  [ 'buckleys & None!']. Liard ALW of the 'RUC' won't even allow the use of a mask or any movement depicting the orginal version, when anyone sings his songs, especialy 'Music Of The Night'. I don't know anything about the R&H version of 'By Jeeves'?

R&H has a reputation for being about as unforgiving as any licensing organization can be.  You can (and should) ask, but be prepared to get a negative response.

I'm a great fan of "By Jeeves", and I've been considering directing it myself.  I think it would be great to advertise it as "the OTHER Andrew LLoyd-Webber musical."

I'm curious.  What number is different, and how is it different?

Love's Maze is different.  In the video, the Male cast is involved in the chorus. There is a small A Capella section not in the vocal score.  And the lyrics used towards the end are different.

What Have Your Got to say Jeeves has about 25 percent new lyrics.

Still, either way we are having fun.

I'm sorry to hear about the changes.  Not world shattering, but I think I'd like the original better, too. -- Glad to hear it's going well for you, though.  "Break a leg!" to all.
