You know you've spent too much time at the theatre when .... (please feel free to add on to this post)

... your 7-year-old knows the lines better than the actors.
... you no longer "clean your house";  instead you "dress the set".

You don't use the dressing room when clothes shopping. But you change so quickly, nobody notices.

You think wearing uncomfortable, ill-fitting shoes is normal.

You don't even notice when men are wearing make up.

You hold for laughs.

It takes less time to paint an entire set, than it does to paint your living room.

Think something is wrong with your watch when you walk out of the theatre and still see sunlight.

Identify colors by their Roscoe gel number...."look out for that R27 light honey!"

You refer to sports uniforms as "costumes"

You know that the theatre's supply of toilet paper is hidden on the second shelf in the women's dressing room.

Most of your household furniture has spent more time on stage then you have, and has the glow tape to prove it.

instead of asking someone to speak up, you ask them to project.

You refer to your kids soccer practice as rehearsal.
(I did this last week)

Or, you notice when they're NOT wearing any, and think "Why do they look so PALE!?" :P

When you ask your TD husband to take the halogen light in the living room down half.

(That's just a normal one- 2 techs married to each other, we tend to use stage references for normal things a LOT- though it confuses our families a lot when we visit)

You start seeing "Theatre Creatures" in everyday life, too.  Lately I've seen a lot of the "set builder - doughnut specialist" types in my life.  You know, the person with few carpentry skills (usually, but not always, an actor) who shows up for set construction, stands around socializing, and after finishing a doughnut or two announces he's got to get going with other errands.  He still gets his name in the program for set construction, though.  Disapprove
