          | Hey all....I am a theatre teacher/director at both a middle school and high school just south of Atlanta, GA.  We were supposed to be performing Diary of Anne Frank but due to a tremendous lack of support from some of the students we've had to change our show.
The students voted and chose to do Alice in Wonderland.  I need help however....our version has all of the regular characters but slightly deviates from the disney version.  There is no rabbit hole scene on stage etc....

Please, if you can, send out suggestions for where to purchase costumes, what type of scenery you would use....we are working with a $1500 budget at this time so any info you can send me would be GREATLY appreciated!

ADDITIONAL INFO: The version we are doing is from "Classics On Stage".  It is geared towards children with the addition of a narrator.  The characters involved: Alice, Mad Hatter, March Hare, DoorMouse, White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, Caterpillar, Humpty Dumpty, Duchess, Cook, Flowers, Knave of Hearts, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.  The story incorporates a forest, humpty dumpty and his wall, tea party, croquet scene, caterpillar on the mushroom scene, rabbits house, among a few others.

I was thinking of using rotating backdrops (2 triangles).  Really having trouble with a humpty dumpty costume.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ADVICE :)

          | are you using the Eva laGallienne script? ... my favorite LOL.
if not, get a copy of it (Samuel French) and it has a LARGE index with lots and lots and lots of directions and instructions for making scenery for Alice in Wonderland.

I would imagine that almost every costume house has Alice in Wonderland costumes ... they're pretty popular.

 Good luck!

... quite a switch from Anne Frank, eh? LOL

          | For those of us not familiar with the script you're using, can you give a hint what scenes you need? |
