Has anyone done Vincent and, if so, was it well received?
Thanks N2D

I"ve never done it - but I've seen a couple of productions and they were both quite good. I think the script is very interesting, and the part is wonderful! The audiences all seemed to enjoy it. I saw it once with Leonard Nemoy - who knew he could act! LOL - and another production that was an amateur theatre. Frankly, I didn't see that much difference between the two.

Sorry to reply so late in the game, but I've been out of touch for awhile. I saw Vincent last year and enjoyed it. It was interesting and well recieved. It was actually performed in an art gallery and was quite appealling. As a cautionary note: it appeared to me that the handling of finding the letters/notes/quotes to read from needs to be thoughtfully constructed. The production I saw seemed a little contrived and not at all spontaneous regarding those moments.

We performed Vincent 2 summers ago. We performed it as a 2 man show, one Vincent, one Theo. IT was very well received. We still have supporters telling us it was one of the best things they have seen. We used 2 screens for the images and back projected. We converted the slide to digital images and put into PowerPoint presentation. We have a Black box theater and we divided the stage in half, Vincent on one side w/ bed, writing table & easel. Theo on the other with a desk and coat rack. The play worked very well with Theo telling the story of Vincent and Vincent acting his parts. Vincent was like a memory as Theo told his story. Quite effective. We are contemplating bringing it back. The show only ran 2 weekends and we have had so many people ask for it back. It also played very well with the local high school art and drama department. Entertaining and educational.
