I would like some suggestions for a Snow White script, please.

I have selected (and purchased) our scripts, but have had 3 people drop from auditions within the last 5 minutes (we have auditions TOMORROW!!!), and 3 who still haven't made up their minds if they will be auditioning.  I ADORE the script we have, but simply will not be able to do it with the number of people I have coming for auditions (I've already doubled and tripled roles and have called everyone in town).  So, it's out with this script and frantically trying to find a script with a smaller cast.

Has anyone done Dramatic's 'Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs' by Marian Johnson?  Any other suggestions with about a dozen roles?!

An update ...

We had enough (really good!) walk-ins tonight to allow us to use the original script as planned.  Thank goodness!  Some of the people who originally would have had smaller parts got some really large ones because of the doubling (gargolye AND animal), so it works out really well.

Now we're on to rehearsals!  :o)

Do you generally have low turnouts for auditions? I guess I'm confused, do you precast what you can and then audition for the smaller roles left over or something?

Generally, I have very large turnouts for auditions and get the pick of the litter!  Nothing is pre-cast.  This is the first time my turnout has been lower than projected.

With the state of the economy, many parents are working odd shifts and can't get their children to rehearsals, or need the older children to watch the younger ones while they work a second or third shift.  Extracurricular activities at school are also suffering.

Unfortunatly, I'm expecting low turnouts for performances because of the economy.  We don't do this for the money ... we do it for the kids to have something positive to do.  If we break even ~ okay.  If we make enough to stage another show ~ wonderful!

Are you still looking for a script?
I have a successful script with

1. Snow White
2. Queen
3. Maid
4. Servant Man
5. Narrator (male or female)

plus seven `dwarves'...
