Job Description
- Plan, develop, implement and oversee CLTP educational programs for learners of all ages.
- Coordinate with marketing/PR staff member to develop marketing plan (tools, schedule, budget, etc.) for all CLTP educational programs.
- Seek additional funding sources beyond tuitions for CLTP educational programs.
- Develop and monitor overall CLTP education budget.
- Serve as staff liaison with the Theatre Academy Committee.
- Prepare monthly status report for Theatre Academy Committee.
- Teach a minimum of two (2) youth classes and one (1) adult class in the fall of each year.
- Teach a minimum of two (2) youth classes and one (1) adult class in the winter of each year.
- Select, supervise, and evaluate all other teachers hired to assist with CLTP education offerings.
- Develop curriculum and lesson plan format to be used by all teachers.
- Ensure the quality of teaching through occasional observation of other teacher’s classes.
- Develop and implement procedures for evaluating all CLTP educational programs.
- Teach all auditioning workshops for both adults and children.
- Teach a minimum of one (1) class for each of the three (3) summer sessions.
- The Theatre Education Coordinator could teach more classes as time and energy allow.
- The Theatre Education Director may direct 1-2 children’s shows a year—one in the fall and one in the winter—depending on need. The rehearsals would take place after school.
- B.A. in Theatre or equivalent professional experience required. Emphasis in theatre education preferred.
- Reports directly to Managing/Artistic Director.
- Position is full time, but schedule is flexible based on teaching and directing load.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.
