I am looking for a unique lighting effect.  In Cinderella, the 4 mice magically turn into horses.  I plan on having 4 girls dressed as white horses .... and would like their tails made of fiber optics for a unique lighting effect.  Is this possible?  If so, how would l go about it?

The small diameter fibre optics strands would be bundled tightly together and flush at one end (the end closest to the "horse") with a light source (obviously battery powered - either LEDs or incandescent bulb) at that end.  The light would seem diminished along the tail except at the very ends, which would glow brightly.  If you distorted the surface of the fibre optic strands (maybe pull each strand through a fold of sandpaper?) you would see some of the light all along the tail.

The fibre optics is typically not cheap, but if you found some of those inexpensive "optical desk displays" they might be altered to make your tails.

Good luck!
