Anyone have any suggestions for a dinner theater for Valentine's?  I've ordered a copy of "Love Letters" by A.R. Gurney, but other than that I'm drawing a blank.

TIA

"The Pavilion" by Craig Wright is also a lovely, serio-comic, romantic play. 3 characters (2 men, 1 woman; all late 30's) 1 very simple set.

Elegies, a song cycle

by William Finn

William Finn (composer and lyricist of the Tony Award-winning 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) weaves a triumphant tapestry of songs into an evening that is at once deeply heartbreaking and yet brimming with exuberant wit. In a pastiche of musical narratives, Elegies pays tribute to incomprehensible loss, unimaginable grace, and infinite joy.

“These friends and colleagues of the composer’s
who have died over the last two decades are
resurrected in playful lyrics bursting with internal
rhymes that remember them in all their quirky
vitality.”
The New York Times

What about "A Single Thing In Common" by William F. Brown.  Anyone read or done it?

A good old 'Murder mystery' only with roses 'n chocolates, which would be in keeping with that particular day.
"Welcome to the theatre, where murder is sweatily done!"
It would be a good twist & not what the punters would expect, rather than all the soppy lovey dovey stuff.WinkOuchEmbarrassed

If they're considering LOVE LETTERS, they're not necessarily looking for "soppy lovey dovey stuff"! Big%20smile

How about I DO, I DO - or its non-musical version, THE FOUR-POSTER?

G'donya SherriAnne!
It must be a different 'Love Letters'? Confused
Not the  one I sat thru for a couple dozen shows, as it was was just that!
Playing tunes on the old heart strings.Embarrassed
Although there was some excitement afforded by the X fade cues, otherwise it was all unacquainted sniffles, tea 'n sympathy.Wink

John Loves Mary  (the movie starred Ronald Reagan, but it's a great show on stage)

'Pride & Prejudice' is the ultimate boy-meets-girl.  I have written a 45 minute version & will complete my full length version in the next week or two -- Both almost 100% drawn from the original text. Let me know if you would like me to e-mail either or both to you--joanna.norland@gmail.com.  Good luck, Joanna
