We have three men in our theatre group who can't seem to control themselves when given the opportunity to develop their character.  Improv seems to be the name of the game, with sight gags, etc.  In various plays, (The Nerd" ,The Foreigner,  Bad Year For Tomatos, among others) these guys have stolen the show without saying a word, and yet, they have never been in the same production.

We want to do a play that will allow these three to work together.  We need a comedy/farce that includes three strong male characters and will give them an opportunity to "let it all out".  Suggestions?

Any of the "Complete works" shows.  Complete Works of William Shakespeare is probably the best.

Try Mark Landon Smith's "Dicken's Cristmas carol, A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts".  Three men four women.  This is a csat of seven who play all the parts in Dicken's Carol.  I am in my second production of this show and being one who has a spot of trouble controlling myself, I love it.  All three men are great for goofballs and the audience loves it.  By the way if you can find four women with the same issues, you have a perfect cast.

"Room Service" by John Murray & Allen Boretz is a stage farce that was adapted into a movie for the Marx Brothers.

3 Guys Naked From the Waist Down - very funny play with music about three stand up comics. Samuel French has it, I believe.

I second the recommendation of Compleat Works: Shakespeare... That would give them free reign without throwing other actors off.

If you want to do something that that includes women too, Don't Dress For Dinner is a wonderful well structured farce. There are 6 characters. 3 women and 3 men. One of the male roles is supporting, but a great character. Also, Ken, Len and Glenn in Neil Simon's Rumors would give them a great vehicle to work with.

If you're up for a christmas show, how about Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) ?  From your description I think they would have great fun with this.  You can read all but the last few pages at playscriptsinc.com

The Pillowman

Martin McDonagh

Black Comedy
Full Length

4 men, 5 bit parts (2 men, 1 woman, 1 boy, 1 girl): 4 total
Flexible Set

THE REVIEWS: "Energizing…a blindingly bright black comedy…[what makes] the unsettling and exhilarating new play from Mr. McDonagh…so gripping as theater is how narrative art becomes the play's and the character's very life blood." —NY Times. "[McDonagh is] a dangerously prodigious master of theatrical form with a talent that goes far deeper than most people understand…THE PILLOWMAN [is] thoroughly startling and genuinely intimidating." —Chicago Tribune. "McDonagh's least forgiving, bravest play." —Variety. "A complex tale about life and art, about fact and illusion, about politics, society, cruelty and creativity." —Financial Times.

Book/Item: THE PILLOWMAN
Price: $7.50
ISBN/Code: 978-0-8222-2100-5

FEE: $75 per performance.

THE STORY: With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, THE PILLOWMAN centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.

The Foursome by Norm Foster.
About 4 middle-aged (or nearly so) buddies at a college reunion, who play a round of golf to catch up with each other.  It's wonderful.

...if you can find a 4th, that is...
