From Israel Horovitz... Thanks to Google Alerts, the animated chat-exchange discussing my adaptation of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" ("Scrooge and Marley") was brought to my attention, this morning. For those of you who don't know "Scrooge and Marley", I wrote it back around 1980, when my older kids were kids... I took them to several stage adaptations of A Christmas Carol and felt that virtually none was faithful to Dickens. So, I set out to create a stage adaptation that used Dickens' own "voice" almost exclusively. I am happy to be able to report that "Scrooge and Marley" has been produced on stage, worldwide, and with marvelous success. And it is published in most junior high school text book across the USA. For this, I credit Dickens far more than myself. I began my own theatre-career in community theatre, with the Quannapowitt Players of Wakefield, Massachusetts. I love community theatre and would be pleased to know that you were doing my plays, imn addition to Christmas season. For community theatres looking for family-fare, I recc my trilogy "Today, I Am A Fountain Pen", "A Rosen By Any Other Name", and "Chopin Playoffs" (acting editions publ by Dramatists Play Service). For more adult fare, I recc my plays "Park Your Car In Harvard Yard" and "Unexpected Tenderness" (both publ by Samuel French). For comedy, I recc my plays "The Primary English Class" (DPS) and "Year of the Duck", which is about a community theatre putting on Ibsen's "The Wild Duck" (DPS), and "My Old Lady" (Saml French). Let me know if you're doing a play of mine and if I'm anywhere nearby, I'll come have a look.

Boy, am I glad I had good things to say about your script.  Its quite an honor to have such a well known playwright as a part of our Greenroom discussion.

By the way, I absolutely love your play TODAY I AM A FOUNTAIN PEN.  I reccommend it highly to CT's,  along with the other plays from the trilogy.
