Anyone got any ideas of how to create a pumpkin coach for Cinderella. I'd like for it to be able to actually roll out down a ramp and out the center aisle of our church community theater space. so...it must be able to fit through a standard height doorway and the aisle is about 4 feet wide.  We have no backstage space so it will start on stage behind a flat and roll out onto the stage....and right on down the aisle and out. Minimal maneuvering.

  Thanks

Funny you should ask this! We are doing Cyrano and were looking for a stagecoach we could use, a local theater company here in MA has one they used in a recent production of Cinderlla that is flat. I'll try to explain it in words. Think of carving a large peice of styrofoam into a pumkin shape then attaching it to one side of a rolling cart. The front of the rolling cart is made to look like the front of a stagecoach, and inside the cart one places seats for the occupants of the pumkin. A large window was cut out of the pumpkin piece and a bench was placed inside the cart, aligned with the window. This was placed on 4 wheels which rolled, but had no turning capacity so it could only be rolled forwards and backwards, which, in reading about your space might not work, but what about figuring out how to put a large styrofoam pumpkin on both sides of the cart, and somehow covering the gap with a beautiful brocade fabric or something to blend the two together?

While it is a nice idea, I feel you may end up a gum tree. With the punters safety, of a vehicle trundling up the aisle, betwewen the bums on seats.

It would have to be an articulated cart produced in 3D, which may cause you more strife than Ginger Megs & create more problems than you could wave a stick at?
While it is possible I feel you might have less than 2 possiblities to achieve - None & Buckley's!
But if you can make it safe & satisfy your Public Liability Insurers, it may be a goer?
You also may need to light a runway in the aisle or use the house lights to cover the coach movement.
