We did this a couple of years ago. Great show, so fun!
We had one set on stage for Sam's speakeasy, with several tables and chairs, major pieces consisted of:
a mini stage, with a foil curtain backround for Taleullas act - CS
a bar - SL
raised platform for Sams office - SR
The rest of the action went on in front of the curtain, with mini vignettes, such as:
the bookcase at the open of the show
a bunch of crates for the down and outs
Dandy Dans parlor with a table and chair
et me know if you need more specifics.

I can't help with BM I only ever seen the 'Flicks' of it.
I'd love to do the stage show, especialy with all that 'custard pie slosh' shooting out of the splurge guns - great fun, almost as good as doing 'Panto'!
Carrying on from mlittlle. I have had envisaged how to stage it, instead of contemplating my toes in the bath.
I would imagine a multi set with zone lighting, would be the easiest to stage.
Although maybe a Revolve might work in well, for the inset cameo pieces. Like the idea of the Speakeasy stage & fiol curtain. I have been thinking of producing a 'Slash' curtain for a while, from old video tape strips, attached onto a header tape & operated by from a Tab track, so the strips overlap hanging down. Which I'm going to cobble together for the 'Phollies' [Phoenix Follies] I will be devising for next years programme.
{The video tape Slash curtain was an idea by 'Opsprops' from the 'Amdram' site }
Does the script not give you a proposed stage ground plan or suggestions from the black bits to help you, fill in all the blank spaces?
Don't mind my drivvel it's only to build up the my post count to beat gaafa!Wink

We did the production several years ago and used a modular set of platforms that never moved to designate areas. The stage of the club remained center. and very few pieces had to  ove on and off. Many scenes I used as if they were part of a show or scenes in the club. Worked wonderfully and the audience got it. Hope all goes well. Had a great time with the show.
