Hello, i'm a brand new member! This is probably a long shot, a very long shot but here goes. I live in The west midlands, United Kingdom and am a trained actress, write and singer and am a director as well and I really want to act again since i've been directing and teaching acting for years now and so I'm looking for people who want to put on a play or musical. I've got ' Much Ado about Nothing' on my mind at the moment, but i'm open to suggestions. It doesn't have to be anything big, but a fun experience of theatre types who live close to each other ' Putting on a Show'. I'm thinking spring 2008. Good luck to me, I say, but I just had to try. O   Smile

I don't know how it is in the UK, but you just described the origins of probably 99% of American community theater. Someone, somewhere says "Let's put on a show" and it grows from there. Theater people are everywhere, it's just some of them are hibernating or something and you have to make them aware that there is something nearby to participate in. Local paper, maybe?

G'day & welcome O
Have a look at the Groups seachable database on amdram,co,uk.
There are '69'whohavelistedtherewith info by locations, Like Coventry or Brum, plus many areas are the west Midlands of Pohmy Land.
This would help you network & find like bods near you.
I'msure ifyou were to put a post on one of the forums it would flush some folks out of the woodwork.
This is the database for the west Midlands that may help you.;-
