Does anyone know whether or not the number of community theatres in the US is increasing?

I can't speak for the whole country, but I am in southern New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia and the number of theater's is definitely increasing in this area.

In Southern and Western Maine I know of two getting ready to open, and one more that is a definite maybe. It will be interesting to see if they actually open.

| In my area of CT (New Haven), community theatres spring up and close down regularly. We just have too many professional theatres for amateur groups to make a real impact. |

In Southern MA there are definitely a few longstanding CT's, we've been going strong for about 30 years, and definitely have 30 more in us!! ------------- Community Theater makes us smile |
