sorry i always come here when i'm having trouble with a website, but its after five so samuelfrench is closed. anyways, heres what happened:

I ordered 14 scripts for a show and the royalty application popped up. I filled it in and am still waiting to get approved. I haven't ordered anything since then, and all the things i'd ordered previously i had already recieved.

Today i got a UPS delivery of 2 scripts of the show--but i never filled in an order for two scripts. are these two of the 14, the rest of which they wont send untill my order is approved? i'm so confused. oh and i checked the order history--no one else from my group placed an order for 2 more...

Good luck with Samuel French. They are famous for things like that. I've seen orders never show up, 1/2 orders show up, checks get lost... you name it...

Samuel French has just about the worst website around.

I would earnestly suggest that you CALL THEM - not email - not written missive vias USPS - not website contact - TELEPHONE them.

When you actually speak to a real person there they are quite helpful - and your problem will get solved!

I agree call Samuel French with your order problem.  We've had several times when we've ordered scripts and they never came, or once I got an order twice, but was only charged once.

Same here. Samuel French can be a nightmare. Once they didn't send materials for a musical because they said we hadn't paid the royalties. I had the canceled check in my hand. They wanted to know why I had the check. . . that endless conversation lasted for over 2 hours. Even with that, I would call instead of e-mail. Get a real person and get their name.

Good luck with SF.  If you live in LA or NY, you have to apply months or years in advance to get permission to perform their plays--even if you are a small community or educational theatre.

While they carry the rights to some really good properties, I've had to stop using them as a source.

FYI, if you ever walk into their Hollywood store, you'll understand why orders are always messed up--I swear most of them are either hung over or in the process of experimenting with substances while on the job.
