I am still searching for a sensible Christmas musical to do with grades 1-3. When I say sensible I mean that it is not some crazy theme - like a hoe-down Christmas or something. I also can't use anything really religious. In the past I have done 'The Nutcracker' and 'Silent Night' (a story of church mice and the community they live in). It also doesn't have to be a musical, but it would be nice. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/YouthTheatre/The_Spirit_Of_Christmas.htm - The Spirit of Christmas , by Annette Cameron.  It's set in Santa's workshop, where the spirit of Christmas has gone missing.  A musical in as much as it comes with one original song, but suggests the option of using other songs ("popular songs") at various other points in the show.

In a similar vein, there's http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/YouthTheatre/A_Letter_to_Santa.htm - A Letter to Santa by Sue Gordon.  This comes with 5 original songs.  The down-side of this one is that, whilst not religious throughout, it ends in a crib scene tableau.

I've done The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! twice and it's been a real crowd pleaser.  Don't think that because it's a "Christmas Pageant" that it's religious because it's more about looking past what you've heard about someone and getting to really know a person before you pass judgement.

Check out Toy Camp and Toy Land.
Both have pre-recorded music- we have done both with kids that age and they LOVE Them! Toy Camp is awesome because they are dressed as toys!!!!!
