Hi all!

I'm directing a production of "The Woman In Black" and it presents a myriad of technical challenges.

The one I haven't been able to overcome is this:  I have a door that opens by itself (at least I'm told it will by my set designer).  But, I need to make it creak.  I know usually we spend our time making doors silent, but this one needs to creak.

Using a sound effect is out of the question - I've already looked and listened and don't care for it.

So if anyone knows how to make a door NOISEY please share!!!

Thank you!

Jeff

Soak the hinges in brick cleaning solution, let them steep in it for a few days or so, then wipe over & dry off the hinge plates. Allowing the rest of the moving parts to dry natural, while fitted straight to the door.
The brick cleaner can be found at any hardware store, ensure you follow the safe handling
 instructions.
The door will creak!
