I am auditioning for the role of Norbert in "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" and would like some suggestions for a good audition piece. If you're familiar with the show, you know that Norbert is a very solid lower baritone. I'm looking for a strong ballad that does not fall into the "classical musical" mode, perhaps something more modern.
Thanks so much!!

have you thought about something from urin town? i dont know the show your auditioning for, but urin town has some low contemporary stuff. and maybe something from sideshow would work, i think theres a low baritone solo in there too. i think the beginging of "the devil you know" could work if you dont need a whole song, just 16 bars. its a really good song and not many people have heard of the show, so theres not going to be much of a chance of someone else doing it. break a leg!

Thanks so much for your suggestions!! I will definitely keep them in mind for future auditions. The auditions for "Trailer Park" were this weekend, and I am proud to say that I will be playing the role of Norbert Garstecki!!!
I ended up using the country song "Your Man" by Josh Turner, and I nailed it!!
Thanks again!!
