Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm asking for your assistance.

I'm putting together a brochure, lauding the benefits of participating in theatre.  Does anyone out there have anything like this already that they would like to share?

If you don't, please add to my list of "benefits":
  • improves communication skills
  • offers an opportunity to express oneself
  • develops the ability to think critically
  • encourages cooperation
  • helps develop values
  • develops sensitivity and understanding of the feelings of others
  • provides a safe and welcoming environment
  • offers 1:1attention for the socially challenged
  • fosters peer acceptance, mutual respect, and self-worth
  • is rewarding and fun
  • builds inner confidence
  • develops organization
  • encourages responsibility
  • teaches self esteem
  • gives a connection to a community
  • provides a creative outlet in arts activity

(Did I repeat myself anywhere?)

Great list, Nanette. All of your points focus on how theatre benefits the creative-participants. What about the audience-participants? Theatre also benefits the communtity it serves by providing a genuine form of human entertainment that one cant get anywhere else.
