I'm looking for an Easter play to be performed by our high school students at a church-affiliated school.  Most of the scripts I've read are very weak in the acting, require 30 men and 0 women, or have music we can't do.

Requirements:

  • more women than men, or at least 5 strong female roles
  • a Passion theme (story of Jesus' ministry, death, and resurrection)
  • traditional music for the songs (no contemporary Christian, country western, or rock)
  • 90-120 minutes running time

I know this is a long-shot, but if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Try some of the following sites.  They might prove helpful:

christiancrafters.com ... These are mostly "skits".

nph.com ... There are shorter plays here.  Season Tickets: The Easter Edition looked like it might work.

faithwriters.com ... You can hire writers here!  My Redeemer Lives looked hopeful.

easterscript.com ... There's a script here that uses as little as 50 actors (as little as?!), but they might be able to assist you in finding something for a smaller cast.

I have another one for you!

It's called 'Mary's Journey'

It's 90-120 minutes long depending on pace and has 8 main female characters and 4 males.
