A local theatre instructor at our local university and a member of our board is desparately trying to remember the name of a show that she saw many years ago.  She said the show was a riot and thought it would be perfect for our small group.

It starts out with a man who's wife is leaving for the weekend, so he invites his mistress over.  However the wife does not leave and the mistress has to play the part of a maid ... and not happy about it.

I believe it ends up with a series of 6 to 8 people in a complete door slamming event with all sorts of mistaken identities.

Now I realize that this show could be just about every British comedy ever written, but I'm hoping to be able to find it for her.  She's been a huge help to our theatre over the last year and if I can find this show for her I believe we our director for the next show.

Anyone want to throw out any titles that I can take back to her?

Thanks

Scott

Sounds like Don't Dress For Dinner.   It's a riot and a cut above the usual bedroom farce.

It's actually a translation from French into English.

Sounds like "Dressed For Dinner" to me too. I saw it a number of years ago and loved it. I agree that it is a cut above the typical bedroom farce.

Don't Dress for Dinner came up on another board as well.  I sent her the link for it (Samuel French) and I think that might very well be the one.

It's also reassuring to hear you guys think it's a good show.

Now ... if we can find somewhere other than the church to perform it we may have something.
