We just wrapped our The Carol Burnett Show 2 featuring more favorites from this TV Comedy Legend...sold out! It was amazing to do the first and the sequel...

Very hard doing a TV show for the stage from the 70's but it was a riot!! Our audience was asking if they would have to wait another 2 years for the third installment...unfortunately we have put this one to bed permanently...

It targets a specific audience, but even younger teens thought it was hysterical!

That and you can loose it on stage and the audience loves it even more

I'm curious did you just crib this from tapes/dvds of the show?

No offense, but is this legal?

I believe Contemporary Drama service offers scripts of TV shows

I was looking at some of Christopher Durang's works and noticed that they were written for the Carol Burnett Show.  Perhaps, they got the rights by finding the original scripts.

Ronophonic got it right - Contemporary Drama http://www.meriwetherpublishing.com/store/d-mart.cgi?session=1120253368-30782&command=list - http://www.meriwetherpublishing.com/store/d-mart.cgi?session =1120253368-30782&command=list  licenses Carol Burnett scripts.

I remember doing a couple of episodes of Maude years ago, but IIRC French had those.

Yes Contempary does offer scripts...however none of them are really recognizable ones..we did Mama's Family, Nora Desmond, Tudball and Wiggins, plus many more. Yes I do have a Carol Burnett Show Library of VHS and DVD's all bought and paid for through Columbia House...was it legal...no...I did contact Wacko Productions in California (owns the rights) and when I told them what I was doing...they just said do it...we were doing it as a fundraiser for a charity...I did write to Carol and received a lovely signed photo with best wishes on our production and I also was able to present a poster to Tim Conway that was signed by our complete cast...

Not one single person benefited financially from these productions except the charities who recieved a wad of cash!

Sounds like it was 100% legal then!

(And yes, I am a lawyer, but not a copyright lawyer, so don't count on my opinion . . . but still.)
