We have a limited budget to create a basic few pieces for Seussical Jr.

I have a couple pieces of foam board I can cut into trees ( with hopefully some help) but what is the best way to brace them to stand up. I also need to figure out Horton Nest.

Not even sure it could be moveable. We had the idea of placing it on a kids play structure and covering the structure in green with the slide in the front and ladder in back so baby ele bird could pop out and slide down but now we have to move it.

Not sure what to do. Limited budget and I mostly paint so I am not sure. Any thoughts?   We are also not on a real stage. It is a platform stage in a church with way to drop set panels.

Where are you located? We are near Boston, MA and need to clear out the elements from a production of Seussical Jr. we did a while back. http://www.techshop.net//shows/Seussical/  Most of the pieces are cardboard cutouts with a little foam.

When we did horton's tree this year, I bought a portable aluminum scaffolding from menard's. I painted it black and then dressed it with fabric to turn it into a nest. Then actors could wheel it on, off, and around at will as necessary. Worked great, plus we now have a nice scaffolding/platform.

last weekend we closed this great musical. we used a stocking ladder dressed it out and that allowed us to roll it, to get "Egg, Nest and Tree" to the circus and then back to the trial. you may be able to barrow one like it from Lowes or Home Depot. most retailers are excited to loan stuff like that if they get a mention in the playbill.
