Community Theater Green Room Discussion Board: Hazer suggestions with small budget

   Hey, all!  I'm doing Seussical this year for our fall musical, and have picked up a couple of fun effect lights for the show.  Now I'm looking at picking up a hazer so the beams of light can be seen.

Normally, if I was doing a DJ gig or a rock show, I'd just use a fog machine and disperse it with a fan.  Unfortunately, for like theatre, the hissssss from the fog machine would not be functional.  So I'm looking for a proper hazer, but there are so many to choose from, and my budget is pretty much nil.

I have heard about DIY oil based hazers, but I've also read a few places that claim the oil fog is unhealthy.  Your thoughts and/or experience would be extremely helpful!

	Why not use dryice in water & fan away the fog. However unlike smoke, the fog will find the lowest level. I have used this from a fly floor to great effect. Further here in ocker Land, the Australian Opera have restrictions on using cracked oil smoke machines. Disclaimer - Always handle dry ice using gloves & with care. as it is not a workers play thing.
