Hello.  I've been challenged by our Community Theater's president to come up with a play for next season (2011-2012).  I've never directed a show by myself.  I have quite a bit of experience both on and off stage though, as well as I am on the board of directors.

I do want to direct a play, however selecting an appropriate play that I will enjoy directing is becoming a challenge.  I am seeking suggestions.  Our theater is in a very conservative community and the rest of the board frowns upon harsh language and overly sexual connotations. 

I would like to do a comedy.  Like most community theaters, finding quality men is always a problem, so the fewer the better.  I would like to find something somewhat current but recognizable.

Is there anything out there for me or am I being too restrictive?  I would do just about anything, but that's not how the rest of them work.  :(
