Community Theater Green Room Discussion Board: Non Performance Refunds

   Does anyone know if it's possible to get a refund of monies paid (music rental & deposit) if a production is cancelled?  We got the rights and have materials in hand to do Clue-The Musical from Samuel French but for the first time in our theatre's history (over 35 years) we had to cancel the production for reasons that I won't horrify everyone with in this post.  Now I'm trying to see if we can recover our initial financial investment or perhaps get our account credited toward a future production.

Has anyone gone through this before?  Needless to say we are mortified at being in this position and obviously just getting the money back is the least of our problems in trying to restore our reputation with our patrons but it's a start.

	Contact SF as soon as you can I'm sure they will accomodate your credit, however there possibly will be some admin fees associated with your production licence & you may have atract a debt fee. But contacvt them asap, as the longer you leave it the more it may cost you.

	Ditto JoeMc's remarks. You should have no problem getting a credit from French's for most of your initial outlay. But do it now - the sooner the better.
