Rehearsal and Performance Etiquette has been explained and passed out to the cast but a few folks are new to our theatre groups. It's has caused a lot of complaining from the cast. We have discussed it but it's still repeated.
My thought was to allow them to fill out, unidentifed, comments and address them in a group session? Your thoughts? I'm not the director but volunteering for the theatre group. Most are seniors.

Group sessions can work sometimes, but invarably can be taken over by the loudest vioce & biggest egos unless controled.
I know I keep pushing m'barra on the use of the 'talking stick', but it does work & has magical powers. The Talking Stick History A lot of theatre etiquette is good manners & has a logical reason for being so - sometimes these reasons have been forgotten & may be less than valid these days or instigated by an axe grinding individuals whim or whatever. Beyond "Conduct unbecoming a member', which normally is couched in most constitions, devise your own theatiquette that comes out the sessions &/or propsed to be formuled by your own comeatre group. I feel there will be more adhearance as there would be logical reasoning behind the do & dont listings. |
