These harness designs are created, perfected, and owned by fly companies whose entire operation hinges on the fact that they don't get released and copied. They regard them as so great a trade secret that you can't even take pictures of them, much less post them on the internet.
Furthermore, if you are considering flying a person do not try and make a harness and do it yourself. You need to hire a professional rigging company such as Foy or ZFX to do this for you. Not only do they have the proper equipment and experience to fly a person correctly, they have millions of dollars in insurance to cover such an operation. |

Great advice tblan!
Don't have flying anyone on your mind, without approved gear & a licenced rigging company. Any hint of home made kit & your group attempting this, gives your insurance company the ideal out to evaporate & fly away! |

DON'T EVER FLY ANYONE! This is easily done without the cost or danger of flying.
For our production of BATB, we just built a mannequin the size of our Beast (actually used one of those "Resuscitation Annie" bodies), put a complete matching Beast costume on it, and screwed an eyebolt to the chest. We then ran a flexiwire to a batten with a "dogclip" on the end (like on the end of a leash). When the Beast fell after being stabbed, he landed behind a low wall and rolled off the platform to change out of his mask/etc. Meanwhile, behind the same low wall Belle was sobbing next to the mannequin and hooked the dogclip to the mannequin. The mannequin was then raised, with a fogger and three 1000W fresnels blasting upward through a grate in the platform. The mannequin flew, spinning, with the arms and legs hanging, smoke & colored lights around it, and then lowered back down to the platform with Belle "catching" it and cradling it to the ground. The "real" Beast/Prince then stood up and the story progressed.
When we had to fly monkeys for the Wiz, we ran a zipline and had stuffed monkeys "flu" from one side of the stage to the other, where the actors came out afterward.
Drama directors always want to actually fly people. I just won't take that kind of risk.
