Hey y'all! I am in a new community theatre group and our first show is in two weeks. We are looking for a second play to presented in the spring. Many people have asked us to do something that is more "Family Friendly" since our first show is a little adult in context (Plaza Suite) and we live in a very family oriented community. Do you have any suggestions????? No musicals please.

"You Can't Take It With You," "Front Page," "Light Up the Sky!,"
"Stage Door," "Great Expectations," the straight (non-musical) version of "Fame," and "Ordinary People" are all good family shows - mostly classics. I've had good experiences with all of them. Good luck! |

There are some wonderful classics you could do. For example, "Blythe Spirit," "One Foot In Heaven," "Dear Ruth," "Arsenic and Old Lace," "Born Yesterday," "The Pleasure of Your Company," "The Curious Savage," and "The Relucant Debutane." Also, you might want to take a peek at my comedy, "Divorce Sale." It is about a group of neighbors that hold a s?ance to contact the deceased husband of a ditsy mother-in-law. 1 simple set (a double-car garage). |
