Topic: Prop Toilet

I am looking for a prop toilet. I cant seem to find one anyone have any ideas.

Does it have to be a fake? You can probably get a loaner from a plumbing supply store..something with a flaw or crack that makes it useless. The company I work for has a half dozen laying in the shop...a great purple one that I want to use somewhere....

yeah, we actually have to use it for an assignment so it would be best if we could actually move it around

Following on from Joan.
Contact a Loo Manufacturer & borrow one of their old or shop soiled Crapper Valve [No pun intended] display stands.
They also turn up in Disposal or Savage Yards from time to time.

You could always mount a real toilet to a small platform on casters. Just cut a rectangle out of 3/4 inch plywood no more than 3 ft on a side, add a caster in each corner,maybe one in the center if you think the ply will flex too much, and bolt the toilet to the platform. Makes it really easy to move it around. So long as you don't have to go up or down stairs anyway.
As for finding the actual toilet, how about calling up your local plumbers? I'll bet they'd have a few old ones they've taken out that they would be more than happy to get rid of.

If plumbers can't or won't come through for you as a source for a loaner, you might try a mobile home park or apartment complex where lots of toilets are maintained on the rental property. They usually will have unused units (new and otherwise) that would work for your set piece. That's where I have always gotten one for the shows that required an actual toilet.

Also, since toilets are designed to sit on a flat surface anyway, there would be no need to put a base with casters under it. That would just look weird. They're not THAT heavy, but if movement is a concern, just put some small Teflon sliders under the base and push it around.

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
