Topic: Acting Theatre competition Posted: 1/13/07 at 3:29pm |
Hi, I'm not 100% sure where to put this topic but I was wondering if there any play suggestions for a college acting competition. 1 male and 1 female, my partner and I.
My partner is the one being judged so she needs something that's female driven and shows off her strengths as an actor.
What we're looking for:
1 3 minute scene
1 2 minute scene
1 1 minute monologue
There are 1000s of plays out there, and she wants scenes that contrast with each other. We're also aiming for plays that are not oversone like Laramie Project or Vagina Monologues. Overly redundant college production.
To note, my friend is Hispanic and I am Filipino, so I'm very open to suggestions for ethnically diverse productions. Are competition is in February, so I thought I'd ask for some help, and this forum looked like there was a lot of good people that knew stuff.

If I was a resonable person, I would have chosen the life of a politician or a chemist, but I not reasonable so I'm a theatre major.

I recently saw a production of a play called "The Spectator
Sport". It is a three person play, but 90 percent of the scenes
are with the two main characters only. A male and a female.
It's a comedy, but has some nice emotional moments between the two as
well. I'm not sure who the playwright is, or the publisher, but
if you're interested I'll find out from a friend who was in the play.

Sounds interesting, I checked playfinder and nothing came up, so I would love to learn more about it.
