I have the exciting job of organizing over 20 years of photos, publicity items, etc for a community theater. Some photos are already in albums, but the rest are just in boxes. I am trying to develop a good method that will allow the material to be easily accessed when needed. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

My advice would be to scan them into a computer and use a photo organizer or database to keep track of them. You could index each picture by a number of fields such as production name, date, actors in the shot, etc. I have worked with Microsoft Access before so I used that for the database and linked each record to a photo.
