Have seen "Clue: the Musical" it is really bad. Don't do it. Maybe someone else has another opinion and granted the production I saw was poorly executed, but still IMHO "clue" = "clueless" Don't know much about "Frog and toad" aside from hearing a few tunes from it. I like "Triumph of Love" however it took my two readings of the script and two times listening to the soundtrack before I really liked it. It's a show that has to grow on you I think. Depending on your audience it may or may not work. We didn't end up doing it, but it's got some fun songs. |

I haven't personaly staged the show, but the youth theater troupe I belonged to as a kid to did A Year with Frog and Toad a year ago and I dropped in on a few rehersals (at lunch break,) and went to see it. It's adorable... a little off beat... and has little to no real plot. I don't know if I can imagine it being done by adults... but if you're working with folks under 18, or trying to draw that age group ad an audiance, go for it. I dunno anything about the other two. |

Hi there, I am actually in a prodcution of A Year with Frog and Toad (playing Toad) right now and it the cutest, sweetest, most adorable thing ever. The music is intelligent and the script is adapted right from the Frog and Toad books. It's a new show, so it's not one of those that has been done to death. Kids love watching the characters come alive on stage and the adults love the humor and the broad characters. Tickets are selling very well for this show. I don't know anything about the other two shows, but it seems that everyone I ask about Clue says that it is not very good. |

Thanks for the opinions! We , as is everyone, are looking to stage something different or at least a work that has not been staged in our neck of the woods in a while. That is why I slected the titles I did. I thought that CLUE would be fun because of the many possible endings and possibly tie in promotions, door prizes and whatnot from Parker Bros. A Year With Frog and Toad could be cast with adults and children. In our 32 year history we have never staged a children's musical like this one. I think I am definanately going to order a perusal of this one. Triumph of Love sounds fun far a small cast of adults and it is a unique work with a common theme. Any input from others on these titles? |
