Hi, everyone.
This is a total long shot, but I'm trying to find a new copy of a book I once had. Below is as much description as I can remember. If anyone has a lead on this book and where I could get it, please let me know! The book would have been purchased last year in England and was about how to integrate games into rehearsals. The cover was orange and blue with outlines of people -- kind of like in the iPod commercials. The problem? It had a really generic name that I can't remember -- something like "Theater games and acting" or some nonsense. I remember one exercise from the book. it involved using the sonnet "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day" and connecting it to a powerful memory of a beautiful summer's day from childhood to form an intimate connection with a partner, even over distance. I know this is sketchy and a long shot, but this book has been invaluable in the past but has dissapeared. I think another director friend hijacked it. :-/ If you have any suggestions, no matter how far-fetched, I'd love to hear them. Thanks. |

This may sound obvious...but did you just Google it? I have found several "lost" books and CD's by internet search....if that doesn't work try Amazon . com (I sound like an advertisement) but they have a pretty good search engine too. Just give them the same info you gave us....and call your director friend and ask him if he accidently borrowed your book.....a book thief is the worst. Maybe you won't get it back but at least everytime he uses it he will have a pang of guilt knowing that you know he stole it.....good luck. |

Since I was waiting for a call, I had a bit of time to try Amazon. Here are a couple candidates: mj |

One of my favorite pasttimes is browsing the used books stores in our city. I've found some great, long-forgotten texts and at a bargain price. If your book is a textbook, you might have luck prowling the used books stores near your university or college. Good luck. |

Thanks for the advice: a friend of mine did have it. What a relief to get it back. Anyway, I really recommend it for anyone who is interested in teaching acting skills at all:
