The theater that I consider to be my home theater has been doing mostly comedies lately. I think one of the main reasons is that they prefer to do family friendly shows with larger casts--at least 6 characters, but usually more.
What are some good PG13 or tamer dramas with larger casts? |

I Love You When It’s Raining, Roy G. Biv
Published by Lazy Bee Scripts. www.lazybeescripts.co.uk Minimum Male roles = 4. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 10. Minimum total without doubling = 14. Chorus. The chorus covers a school class, a choir and a funeral congregation, so very flexible numbers! The structure of the story implies a mixture of adults and children, but of course it could be performed by a youth company. Running time: 45-55 minutes. Synopsis: We have all had a favorite teacher--a life force who could turn the dull routine of just another school day into an exciting or relevant moment that forever remains a moment frozen in time. That teacher is locked away in the pleasant part of our memories. Even if you never liked school, or the subject was dull, or if you were one of those people who had a bad attitude, or who had heard it all before, that teacher still stands before you and reminds you of your better self. I Love You When It’s Raining, Roy G. Biv is a memory play that pays homage to one of these great and good people who inspires us all long after we have left our school days behind. |

Maybe look at "The Ithaca Ladies Read Medea" - funny at many points, heartwarming drama - cast of seven, with strong roles for six women!
