I have the audio technica atw-r3100 series mics. They are 5 years old. With the abuse of 6+ shows a year, they are in need of overhaul. Things like plastic window over display replaced on some, two in need of display replaced, and the connector for the mics replaced / cleaned.
Looking for opinions if it would be better to just replace the packs or if it is worth sending them out to be overhauled. Thanks! |

I'd talk with your dealer about refurbishment. Get a quote (never hurts to ask). Most Audio dealers are more than happy to give you all the info you want beforehand.
Price out refirb, and Price out replacement. Happily the ATW-3xxx series are still legal (the FCC is apparently still talking about auctioning off the "B" band for this product, which would make it illegal to operate in this band). But this has not happened yet, and I hope it never does. Replacing or cleaning the connectors is not a big deal, and since this is still a supported product getting the screens should be okay as well, so it could save you some money. Do you take any measures to "keep them clean and dry"? Always better to keep the dirt out in the first place. |
